On tap for Friday night, County Cork’s Liam O’Riordan from the Irish group, Trad Roots, will be appearing at
the Trinity Irish Pub and the Pier at Caesar’s in Atlantic City. Don’t worry if you miss him—he’ll be
appearing again on April 20 at Emmett’s Place in Philadelphia and on April 24 at The Shanachie Pub and
Restaurant with local (but formerly of County Clare) musician Fintan Malone. We heard Liam about a year
ago when Trad Routes made an all-too-brief appearance in the Delaware Valley, and he’s amazing.
"I first met Liam when he came and played at my pub, a most unassuming and kind-hearted man, whose size
most certainly does not contradict his demeanor. I quickly realized that I was dealing with a gentleman who
oozed with talent and had an incredible voice. He always took a very professional approach to their
performance and gave whole-heartedly an evening of amazing sounds, even when he finishes you can be
assured of a very down to earth gentleman, not at all demanding, as some musicians can be. He will spend a
great deal of time having photos taken and basically whatever needs doing with my customers. I recall one
night when Liam sang a particular Irish song three times, because it was requested. Now knowing Liam as I
do, I know he does not like this song, but as I stood listening I realized that Liam would have sung just
about anything to entertain those people. Once described as "a gentle giant with the voice of an angel"-a
perfect description. I love when he comes to play for me."- Brian O'Neill, Proprietor, The Tap Tavern,
Kinsale.
